First Smile

Last week, I saw Davis smile for the first time! It was the cutest thing in the world! I had the camera and was taking pictures of him playing on his little playmat and realized that I had just captured his first smile on camera! Ryan says that Davis smiled at him the weekend before, but I don't believe it. His first smile had to be for me!

Davis sleeping

Davis is getting to be a much better sleeper! The first couple of weeks were really rough and I wasn't sure if I would ever have any more children then. It is getting a lot better now, though, and I have decided that I will have more kids, just not anytime soon.

Davis has been sleeping in his own bed for about 3 and a half weeks now. He is a very noisy sleeper and I couldn't sleep very well with him right next to my bed so we moved him to his crib when he was two weeks old. He sleeps much better and we sleep much better! He will go down about 9:00 or so and usually wake up about 3:00 to eat. He then sleeps until about 6:00 or 6:30. The last couple of days he has been really sleepy and we've been getting him in bed late. He's gone to bed about 10:30 or 11:00 and sleeps until 4:00 or 5:00. Then goes back down until 8:00 or 9:00. That has been wonderful, but I'm going to have to get him on a much earlier schedule when I go back to work! If we swaddle him at night, he sleeps a lot longer! Here is a picture of Davis swaddled tight before bedtime- he looks so cute after a bath in his pajamas and wrapped up like a mummy!

Bath pics

These are some pictures of Davis during bathtime. At first, he did not like his bath at all, but he seems to be enjoying it more. I think Ryan and I are getting more experienced at giving baths too- that might be why he likes them more!

Candy Pictures

Davis got a onesie from his Aunt Becky that says, "I vant your candy" and we took pictures of him with the onesie on in a candy bucket.

Davis is born

I went into labor on Thursday, September 20th. I started feeling lots of pressure that afternoon at school, so I went home right after school to lay down. As I was laying down, I kept waking up because of some kind of pain which I later figured out must have been contractions. I got up and started walking around and the pains kept coming. I then decided that I might be in labor so I called Ryan and told him he probably better start heading home. When Ryan got home, we waited around for a little while and then decided to get in the car and head towards the hospital. We weren't really sure if we should go because I was really scared of going there and then being sent back home. Once we got in the car, the contractions started getting much more painful, so we decided to head straight to the hospital. I was admitted about 6:30. Once I got the epidural, labor was lots of fun because we had all sorts of visitors in the room. Then we got some unexpected news- the baby was breech and would have to have a C-section. I was pretty scared and upset, but it got baby Davis here! He was born at 12:02 am on Friday, September 21st and was 7 pounds, 1 ounce and 20 1/2 inches long! He was born with a mullet of black hair!!
